Shot In the Dark Cafe in Vancouver Island

Sandwiches are awesome, good coffee and treats. Staff and service is good too. Bring an empty stomach and be prepared to be spoiled.

Food would have been better if they didn't microwave the sandwich and the soup. Not a fan of paying for f9ra microwaved meal.

One of my favorite sandwich joints I've ever been too. Sandwiches seem expensive but honestly, they are totally worth it. Completely, absolutely worth it.

Awesome spot on the water in Campbell River. Free 2 hour parking across the street. Easy to eat vegetarian here! I had the vege sandwich and it was massive and very fresh bread. Also had an almond milk latte which was lovely. For sure eat here for any meal and coffee over any of the chains!!

The staff are extremely helpful, great menu with all the comfort food options. Looking forward to trying everything they have to offer!

This place is a complete sham. The use and abuse people. They were even so scared that they threatened me with a lawyers office. They like to manipulate their employees and pay them under the table. They like to go to random grocery stores and buy all the half price or less products and bring them to their shop to prepare them to make food for you so nothing is really fresh. They also break the rules and they make stuff inside their filthy home and then they bring it to the store illegally in their vehicle and sell it to you as if it's fresh from the restaurant. They take advantage of people whenever they can whenever they can to benefit themselves. They will use and abuse and manipulate everyone around them to benefit themselves.

I had a terrible experience here when I bit into a glittery fake nail which was inside my sandwich. After I notified the counter staff he claimed that it wasn’t his nail and then said it was probably “one of his girls” who left the nail. He offered to remake the sandwich and when I declined he offered to refund only my sandwich. When the debit machine didn’t work to refund he didn’t have change and asked for $10cash for change for a $20 to make the refund for only my sandwich order. When we didn’t have the cash he reluctantly offered the $20 out of the $40 we spent at the place. Me and my group just left our sandwiches on the table not impressed with our experience.

Spent a ton of time here because it's a great place. Chose it because of the good coffee, beautiful view of the park and harbor, and good vibes for working or hanging out. Friendly staff put up with me for a month while I camped out writing a master's thesis. Food was good- pricey but portions large.

Working staff here needs to speed up the service here a little

Hidden gem. They do awesome food with huge portions. Really great breakfast and lunch options not to mention really tasty coffee. I got the Denver Eggxtreme and a cranberry muffin. I can't wait to come back again for some more delicious food.

Sean was so helpful dealing with my food allergies, prepared one of the best meals I've eaten out since the allergies struck. The bread, (which I unfortunately couldn't eat) was made fresh by a local baker and was so good we took a loaf home. Excellent food, delightful staff.

While waiting for my sandwich (which was huge and delicious by the way) they gave me a free soup to try. Also amazing. And the mocha was the perfect blend of chocolate and coffee flavours. Cant recommend enough.

The owner is super friendly and made a great food recommendation! The Seaside Eggstreme was huge and delicious... and made with WILD salmon, not that gross farmed crap. Double Americano was fantastic too. Overall great place, great staff, and delicious food! Also, there is now good fast WiFi.

I'm seriously not a big sandwich guy, but every time I'm in Campbell River I get an egg salad sandwich here and I'm reduced to weeping. Absolutely delicious.

Excellent food, even the croutons were homemade! The Benny was delicious with homemade English muffins hollandaise and farm fresh eggs. Our first visit, and definitely not our last!

My wife and I just had a Denver Sandwich in this Cafe and I can tell you. I have travelled all over the world and I have never had anything that came even close to what they handed us this morning. It was amazing. It's a really good job we decided to split one sandwich because neither of us would have been able to have eaten a whole one each. Friendly guys, great coffee and good food.

Awesome menu, awesome service and best of all awesome sandwiches and food. You will not leave hungry or disappointed! All that for a couple bucks more than you'd pay at Subway. Do yourself a favour and support the local guys with fresh local ingredients.

So yeah... I came in and the lady and gentleman behind the counter could not have been more hostile and moody. When you’re willing to pay upwards of 17 dollars for a sandwich it’s nice to have it served with a smile. We waited outside and when I came back in the lady didn’t even remember me being literally her last customer. I’ve come here every time I visit cambell River and was seriously disappointed. Of course the sandwich was good... but the service was the weirdest, moodiest and quite simply you shouldn’t be opening your restaurant if you are going to act like that. Also... when someone asks for cream in their coffee don’t just slam two individual creamers on a plate and expect them to be like... thank you. Will never eat here again. It was like eating a spite sandwich with a cup of misery beside it.

A great place in the heart of downtown. They make a perfect latte, the food is hot, fresh and delicious, and the staff is very friendly!

I loved the Tucson location. It was sad and shocking to me that Downtown folk moved on to the explosion of new downtown restaurants and left Shot in the Dark twisting in the wind. S. I. T. D. Cafe will be my first meal when I get to British Columbia! Lost one star for not being open all night. It is in Canada!

We popped in for a quick sandwich and soup before an appointment. After 40 min we had to ask for a refund because we hadn't received our sandwich and we were going to be late. However, the soup was good.

Of the three times I have been to this establishment, I have eaten here once. The first time I went I arrived an hour before closing time, and the girl behind rolled her eyes at me and told me they were closing. We left without her saying another word. The 2nd time I was greeted with a blank stare and when I asked about ingredients she didn't have an answer for me. However I got food and enjoyed the taste and quantity. 3rd time today, an hour before the listed close time was told they were closing in a very rude manner by a gentleman. They told me they were out of food. As I work in the restaurant industry I understand it gets busy and things happen, however I do not believe it is necessary to treat paying guests terribly. You should be thankful you have people wanting to come to your restaurant. I guess however and unfortunately seems to be almost the standard in Campbell River.

Honestly the only restaurant in Campbell River we keep coming back to and we've tried many.The food is always extremely tasty and the portions are very generous. Was upsold, and not give what I asked for. I asked for a simple bagel and was given a $15.00 sandwich instead. Will not be returning ever. Horrible place!!!

Killer sandwiches and great service to boot. When they ran out of gluten free bread, I walked to a nearby store and brought my own. That's how badly I wanted one of these sandwiches. Worth it.

Awesome service given. We were up visiting Campbell River and stopped in for lunch. We were treated with kindness and special treatment, as we had our Siberian husky with us. Table outside, water for the dog and the best sandwich ever.A-Class, Thank you shot in the dark
